Residential over 11 m: the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add quarterly checks of fire doors in communal areas and annual checks of flat entrance doors for multi-occupied residential buildings over 11 m. Boarding accommodation can fall within scope. Raise it with your fire risk assessor and reflect it in the schedule above.

Basis: the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to keep fire doors, like all fire safety measures, in efficient working order and good repair (Article 17). BS 9999 recommends six-monthly inspection of fire doors by a competent person, which is the benchmark used here; many schools add weekly visual walk-checks of doors on escape routes.
